who is coach doobz?
this is my story
My name is Marc “Doobz” Dubois.
I was born 2 months premature at 4 lbs 4 oz. During delivery, the cord was wrapped around my neck causing oxygen deprivation.
Doctors said that I was 3 seconds away from being a vegetable or more likely dead. The birth trauma left me with a chronic condition similar to cerebral palsy.
Doctors told my parents “put him in a chair in a corner and forget about him. He will never be aware of his surroundings unable to walk talk or function.” That dire prognosis could not be further from the truth!
I had 18 surgeries/medical procedures before my 18th birthday, as well as, countless hours of physical, speech, and occupational therapy.
I spent, in total, a year of my life in a hospital bed. I was horribly bullied as a child and faced a hundred other adversities in my life so far, some related to CP and some that came along in the ordinary course of life
Yet today, I have achieved every goal I have set out to reach. I have earned 2 degrees, 3 professional licenses, and successful careers in finance, teaching, and ministry. But my biggest success was becoming a NASM nationally certified personal trainer and three-time trophy winning men’s physique athlete. Since then, I have found both personal and financial success as an online and in-person personal trainer and motivational speaker through my business DoobzFit.
Yet, I am not immune to life’s difficulties
In the course of my life 2013-mid 2017 were among the hardest years of my life. I found myself unemployed/underemployed with debilitating anxiety and poor health. During this uncertain time I slipped into a serious depression and was headed for suicide. I was in the midst of a total life collapse.
It is about this time that two very important people entered my life, My brother-coach Mark Washco (markwashco.com) and my brother Dakota Lane (dakotalanefitness.com) These two brothers helped me get serious about my fitness, nutrition, and health. They loved me back to life when I was dangerously close to the abyss. These two brothers saved my life. To put it more broadly fitness saved my life.
Just after getting started with in my fitness journey with Mark and Dakota, I was offered the surprise opportunity of an award provided by the local NPC (National Physique Committee) that covered part of my expenses to do my first men’s physique competition. I had dreamed of being a men’s physique athlete since going to the Arnold Classic in 2010. I seized the opportunity, and with Mark and Dakota by my side, I set out to do my first show.
Under their watchful and loving care I went through an 11 month combined physical mental and emotional transformation/healing process through the gym.
By the time I got on stage 11 months later I had gone from 179lbs to 136lbs and from 20% body fat to 6.25%. Show day/weekend with Mark, Dakota, and other members of Team Doobz was a dream come true. I got on stage one person and came off another. The experience of being on stage was utterly amazing and to this day defies complete description. To call the experience of my first show life transforming is a gross understatement
anything is possible
On show day I was completely focused on bringing my best physique to the stage for myself. I was not concerned about my fellow competitors. I had worked hard, got in shape naturally, and was proud of my physique and journey.
To my stunned amazement, I won trophies in 3 of the 4 divisions I entered (2nd in my age division, 3rd in novice and 3rd in open. In the 4th division I was 7th out of 16 top half of the division)! There were no blow out classes, and no accommodations given to my condition.
Mark and I are pressing on to my second show together. He and I have a dream of getting me nationally qualified in men’s physique as our next milestone. I will be one of very the first men’s physique athletes with CP to achieve that level of athletic success
Since the show I decided to become a NASM CPT and turn my passion for fitness into my income. While going through Mark Washco’s business training program, I launched DoobzFit in April of 2019 as my way of paying forward the gift of health, fitness I have been given, and as a platform to share my inspirational story with others.
As of today, I have a 100% 5 star rating from my coast-to-coast clients. After being featured in several podcasts and interviews, I have gained a rapidly expanding social media audience and reputation as a motivational speaker.
I have turned my dream of pursuing my business full time into a reality. I now have achieved the financial freedom, life freedom, and meaningful impact that I’ve always wanted. Every day I wake up excited to hustle and grind to help give people the life they’ve always dreamed of.
This is only the beginning of DoobzFit and I hope to see you along the journey.
what's your excuse?
If I, a guy who only a few years ago, was on the verge of total life collapse and nearing suicide can come back from the edge, and in less than two years, go from suffering from anxiety, depression, and abysmally low self-confidence to becoming a trophied men’s physique athlete, what’s your excuse?
If I can go from barely surviving to chasing my own life and financial freedom through running a thriving personal training and motivational speaking business, what’s your excuse?
If you’re ready to change your physique, and in the process change the way you feel about yourself.
If you’re ready to breakthrough your perceived physical and mental limits.
If you’re ready to take hold of your health, fitness, self-confidence – to take hold of your LIFE ABOVE LIMITS, please contact me.
I am ready to get you to your Limitless Life.
